Cindy was rescued as a puppy with her siblings and Mum when they were living as strays outside of a school in Bosnia. They were terrified and have all required a lot of help to get to to their current point. Cindy was originally in a kennels in Bosnia with her family and as she slowly improved in confidence she moved to a foster in Bosnia. When she had made enough progress and grown in confidence enough to travel, she came to the rescue centre in Kent and stayed with Stephanie before moving to her current foster. Each step has shown a significant step in Cindy's progress and had lead her to this point where she is finally ready to have a forever home of her own.
From her foster family-
Cindy is a beautiful, sensitive soul who is slowly learning that the world and people can be kind. She’s only been with us for a short time, but her gentle personality is already starting to come through. Cindy is currently quite shy, however she really wants to trust, and food is very much the way to her heart.
She is a HUGE foodie and will bravely approach you for treats, she often quietly spying on you from the kitchen just in case something tasty appears. Cindy loves lick mats, confidence building free work (which we practise daily) and she enjoys nothing more than curling up in a warm bed or snoozing on a fluffy rug. She also has a soft spot for fluffy toys, which she likes to nibble on.
Cindy is very clever, thrives on routine, and is already fully toilet trained. We’re currently working on gentle eye contact with treats to help build trust and positive associations with people and she’s making lovely progress each day.
She’s respectful around our other dogs but could also do well as an only dog with a calm confident owner or couple who has experience with shy or timid dogs.
Due to her sensitive nature, Cindy would be best suited to a quieter, predictable home. We feel children aged 12+ would be most appropriate, as she finds busy or noisy environments overwhelming.
We can’t not mention her big, expressive eyes, permanently “concerned” eyebrows, and ears that are constantly in airplane mode flapping around as she moves, which is equal parts adorable and hilarious
