Beloved sanctuary dog Hero passes away at the rescue centre!!
One of Fetcher Dog's oldest rescues and sanctuary dogs Hero, passed away yesterday.
It is a very sad day for Fetcher Dog as Hero was one of the first dog's rescued and as always been present at the centre seeing literally thousands of dogs come and go.

One of our beautiful sanctuary dogs passed away yesterday.
Hero was one of the first dogs that we rescued from the kill shelters in Bosnia. He waited for such a long time for a home that myself and Stephanie adopted him and he has been a permanent fixture of the Fetcher Dog rescue centre ever since.
We don’t know the centre without Hero.
Hero loved to plod around our fields every day, roll around in the grass and dig holes. He loved belly rubs and cuddles but most of all, he loved his best friend Taylor. Taylor and Hero have been inseparable for the last six years and our focus is now to make sure Taylor copes without his best friend.
Hero was a big brother to Taylor and never left his side.
Many people will know Hero from events he has been to with us as he was good with every person and every dog he met. He was always part of our sponsored walks and made the occasional appearances in our reels and posts from around the centre.
Hero was about 10/11 years old and showed no signs of illness until yesterday when he collapsed.
He was rushed to the vets and they found masses in his liver and he was bleeding internally. Unfortunately the vets couldn’t do anything to save him.
He leaves a big hole at the centre for all of us and we will miss him terribly. We love you baby, we will look after Taylor for you
