Fetcher Dog Diary

We hope everyone has had a wonderful Christmas and have had a well earned rest! We are grateful for all the support on our videos over the last few days of us spoiling our dogs for Christmas, they had a lovely time and hopefully by next year a lot of them will be having Christmas in their forever homes.
We have been very lucky and received a lot of toy donations over the last month and have been able to spoil the dogs and let them pick their own Christmas presents from a big pile in the middle of our field. The dogs just go nuts for this and really enjoy it every time we do it. Christmas Day was business as usual here except all the dogs were spoilt with a Christmas dinner which our kennel assistant Amanda and Steph spent several days cooking for them. Luckily the dogs really appreciated it and there were empty dinner bowls all round. Peaches and her puppies had their first ever Christmas in their usual chaotic fashion and LOVED all the toys they received. I do think the pups may of enjoyed the wrapping paper more than the toys but as long as they enjoyed themselves, that’s all that matters!
We have opened our doors to quite a few dogs over the last few weeks, with one even joining us on Christmas Eve. The dogs we have taken in have all come from different situations but were all in need of a lifeline which we were luckily able to provide.
As many of you know, we are trying to buy a rescue centre of our own this year and time is starting to run out on us getting the money together in time to secure the property that we have found. A centre of our own will enable us to start rescuing more dogs, giving them a better life whilst they are with us and will give the charity a permanent future rather than living in constant worry about being in a rented property that could kick us out at any moment.

We are aiming to raise £50,000 towards our goal over the next month and even though this is a massive target, we would love for any help we can get to make this happen. If you could consider doing a sponsored walk, a bake sale at work, getting sponsored for sober January, or putting on a fundraiser of your own like a pub quiz, we’d be so appreciative! This really is a massive next step for us but we can’t continue at the leasehold property when the lease runs out so it’s now or never!
Please consider donating if you can and thank you for everything you’ve done for our dogs this Christmas, it really means so much to us.
Thank you
