Medi's Journey, from the Bosnia streets, enduring dog attacks and, now, thanks to our rescuers, is now safe in the Fetcher Dog family.
Fetcher Dog rescue dogs from UK pounds as well as from the streets of Bosnia,
There are differing issues that the dogs face in the different countries.
In the UK, abandoned dogs find their way through the system to dog pounds, owners are sought but due to the pounds being full are given seven days to be claimed before being euthanised, Fetcher Dog (when we have kennel space) step up and take as many of these dogs as we can. The dogs in the UK are in relatively good condition but there are still instances of dogs being used for breeding and then dumped and dogs being abandoned due to medical conditions.
In Bosnia, there is a street dog issue, dogs are viewed as a nuisance, there is little protection for the dogs against animal abuse and the street dogs are targeted with neglect, abuse and violence.
Our rescuers, in Bosnia, work on the frontline, rescuing street dogs, almost, on a daily basis and support them in safe and loving environments away from an under-funded, creaking and sometimes corrupt dog welfare system.
One such dog, now under Fetcher Dog's care is Medi.
Medi is one of almost 100 dogs we support, you can see from the contrast in images what a transformation Fetcher Dog and our rescuers can make to the health and well being of dogs but we need your help.
