Meet Freddie! One our newest arrivals to the rescue centre!

 Freddie came to us as an owner surrender when his owner could no longer care for him in the way he needed. He is six years old and was in that home since he was a puppy but his worsening skin condition made him irritable and a bit snappy when touched and his owner decided he’d be better with another family.

His skin condition had not been looked at by a vet and had been a long term worsening issue which caused him pain and itching. It was explained that before his skin was bad, he was the happiest and friendliest little boy. 

Since arriving to us at the rescue centre Freddie has been to the vets and has been put on a lovely grain free food and his skin is improving! He is happier and happier to be touched by people he knows and trusts and is getting more comfortable at the centre despite being nervous to start with. 

Freddie can be nervous and reserved when it comes to meeting new people but when he knows and trusts you, he is a very loving and affectionate boy and I can see that this will continue to grow as his skin improves and the pain he has subsides. 

Freddie is very good motivated which helps with settling him in and training. He has been good with the other dogs at the centre and really enjoys playing with us outside in the garden. He likes playing with and chasing toys but doesn’t yet understand that he’s supposed to bring them back so we tend to do the fetching ourselves.

I hope that we can find a patient and loving home for Freddie that can help him on his skin journey and get him back to feeling like himself again!!
