Say hello to Stanley - One of the stars of the 2027 Haute Dogs Calendar.
Stanley has been with us at the rescue centre since December last year and even though we’ve posted him a few times, he hasn’t yet been chosen for a home of his own.
Stanley came to from the pound when he was due to be put to sleep for no other reason than lack of space. He arrived with lots of wounds and scars on his body, he was underweight and nervous but quickly came out of his shell when he knew he could trust us. He has been waiting for a home ever since. He can be a tiny bit reserved when he meets new people which may be why he hasn’t yet been chosen. He needs to be given a chance and then he will show you what an affectionate and loving boy he really is.
Stanley is a typical lurcher and does the lurcher lean to show his affection. He is a really cuddly and loving boy. He has been chilled in all situations we have put him in so far and has been great at the vets, during our photoshoot for the 2026 Haute Dogs Calendar , in the van and during our move from our old centre to our new one! Stanley enjoys his time outside a lot and really enjoys wandering in our field. He loves the occasional zoomy and likes to play with toys. Stanley has been good with the other dogs at the centre.
We hope that we can find Stanley a home of his own before he has to spend another Christmas at the rescue centre!
